Script: Volunteer: “Don and I met because I am a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. We had an instant connection…” Don: “What was that?” Volunteer: “I say delivering to you was always a special treat.” Don: “Ooh, oh.” Volunteer: “He has a giant stingray sculpture that is about this big.” Don: “It is about four times that big.” Volunteer: “Sorry my sense of measurement is off. I developed an understanding and an appreciation and empathy for people who can’t do everything they used to do.” Don: “Not feeling good at all, it is hard for me to even get down to the corner and take the bus to the market. They are helping me to get food if I can’t get to the store on my own, you’ve got to have it or you aren’t going to get healthy again.” Volunteer: “Company, companionship, food--we all need those things.” Don: “When we get in that spot in life, it is kind of nice to have them there.” V/O: “Through the Subaru Share the Love Event, we have helped deliver over 1.4 million meals to those in need.
